OVERVIEW-
From the finest of ‘low tech’-
-purpose designed and built wooden tables from Thor’s Hammer (3 tiered (imagine for example 3 levels of a dungeon), lidded for secret scenes, and spacious enough to allow for fully 3D experiences of characters in scenes (imagine for example a chase scene along a dangerous rocky ridge line with scree slopes, icy outcrops and a cave in which menacing frost dwarfs await unwary fugitives).
-special recipe Sculpting Sand for shaping terrain elements that will hold their form even after a horde of hossborne Khavad nomads have charged across it, plus rocks, twigs, pigments and matting to complete a wilderness scene (imagine a steppes-grasslands scene with the land gently sloping down to a natural pebbly ford across a snaking rivulet where a small knot of desparate freedom fighters prepare to make a stand).

-portable computers with internet and wiki software configured for restricted Vala Club members acccess only and strictly monitored for such, creating an unsurpassable environment for collaborative world building and writing.

Developed by rogue anthropologist and writer Math Long, Vala Club presents in a new form some of the oldest methods known to develop expression and writing skills, to safely explore diverse experiences, and to turn weaknesses into strengths. All while having great fun and interacting with other like-minded young people!

You can come along to any combination of days during a holiday program period. By all means come along to just 1 or 2 days to get a feel for things. Many participants enjoy a number of days as a block because they can “see a story all the way through” rather than just an “episode”. Multiple days also lead to attractive discount rates.
Core hours are 9am-5pm.
It is also possible to arrange to drop-off participant/s earlier and/or to pick-up later
Vala Club is suitable for ages 8–16 (Ages 8 – 10 are introduced through our Vala Junior gateway) . We also pride ourselves on our in-house leadership program whereby older participants inspire younger children to greater achievements, and many young people ‘graduate’ from our program, and return to work in it themselves.
The program is run in the excellently appointed art wing of Yarralumla Primary School.

Before any applicable discounts, or Child Benefit & Child Rebate 1, reduce the final amount-
each day of Vala Club costs $120.

1 Vala Club could be as good as half-price with the Australian Government 50% Child Rebate!
- Note well- even if you receive $0 Child Benefit you will probably still receive the full Child Rebate (nearly 50% back!); the Child Rebate is not income tested, and is up to $7500/year/child.
