- Aeoncademy Canberra Winter 2011 Vacation Program
July 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22
• • With the close of 2009 the first generation of Apprentice Vala Club DM Aeoncademy workers graduated from the M-Group traineeship program, and have gone on to work (gainfully mind!) throughout our 2010 Vacation Programs!
• Places are once more available in the M-Group traineeship program.
• Summary of the M-Group traineeship program:
M-Group is part of a developing Aeoncademy TO, the training branch of Aeoncademy. It is a part of the business Aeonclave.
M-Group is for training as a Vala Club DM Aeoncademy worker;
Shifting Sands Miniatures- Aeoncademy &/or Video Training is by a more mentorship style of involvement in Shifting Sands Video work &/or on-the-job training in Aeoncademy- Shifting Sands Miniatures. This said there is such a close relationship between Vala Club and Shifting Sands that a Shifting Sands trainee can still gain a lot from involvement in M-Group.
Training can be undertaken anytime between 13 – 16 yrs age (exceptions for 12 yr olds are only made in the case of siblings of 16+ yrs qualified Vala Club DM Aeoncademy workers), with an intense/top-up phase during the final year before one is qualified to work at minimum age 16yrs.
M-Group involvement is not intended to replace normal paid participation in Vala Club. In fact it is expected that M-Group participants continue to be normal paid participants in Vala Club. (See below for further details about work experience/on-the-job training/volunteer work at Aeoncademy).
Enrolment in M-Group is on a term to term basis, with there being no problem taking a term off.
The central component of the M-Group program are the weekend sessions (usually Saturday, sometimes Sunday, approx 4 or 5pm – 6 or 7pm) of which there are 3 – 4 per term.
A number of training modules (approx. 12) are presented, tutorial style, rather than a precise course ie. modules may be done in differing orders and over a shorter or longer period of time. Rather than repeat modules when the circumstance arises attendees will work on a specific individual Apprentice-DM project in a manner related to the particular module.
Some modules will be assessable ie. simply undertaking them is not enough- they must be undertaken successfully.
A record is kept of a participant’s progress.
Calendar of weekend sessions is published on Google Calendars, instructions below. Notices of weekend sessions is emailed automatically from Google Calendars (beware lest it be filtered as junk at your mailbox). Both should also be accessible at www.dawnsaga.net and www.valaclub.com.
Current regular attendees at M-Group are also invited to stay on for dinner (usually DIY take-away from local shops) with graduates and tutors, as well as for RPDawn (role playing) game testing afterwards (details posted as per above). There is no participation in this activity without M-Group participation immediately beforehand. No train no play.
The other aspect of the M-Group program is work experience/on-the-job training/volunteer work at Aeoncademy. This is by invite only and has to be preceded by a phase of attendance at M-Group.
Trainees will only be invited to do on-the-job training in addition to, or swapping out, days that they have pre-committed to normal paid participation.
• Essentially M-Group is a traineeship program that involves enrolment on a term to term basis (no problem taking a term off) which entitles a participant to formal tutorial style training, and invitation to on-the-job training which is in addition to normal paid vacation participation.
• M-Group enrolment costs $200 per term which covers all training fees.
Participants are required to bring an internet and word-processing capable device (pref. ‘laptop’) for note-taking, writing and accessing www.dawnsaga.net and www.valaclub.com and other related websites, as well as a notebook, pen, pencil, erc. If necessary a mobile internet connector will be supplied for the session
